Snowboarder at Madonna di Campiglio

Madonna di Campiglio: sports, nature and sophistication

Madonna di Campiglio is one of the world’s favourite and most renowned ski resorts. The ski area dates back to 1936, when the first ski lift was opened, but it only started attracting mass winter tourism in the 1950s.

Today, Madonna di Campiglio is seen as one of the most elegant and fashionable destinations of northern Italy, and is particularly popular among those who practice winter sports at a medium-high level. Lying at an elevation of 1500m, in a valley created by the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello and Presanella glaciers, it offers state-of-the-art lifts reaching 2600m above sea level, and perfectly beaten tracks immersed in a breath-taking landscape.

The Ski Area covers around 60km, and the variety of ski courses is truly enviable. The 3-Tre di Campiglio is a particularly famous track: after hosting major alpine skiing races through the years, it now regularly hosts slalom and special races.
The Graffer track is incredibly scenic: long, panoramic and with a gentle incline, it is perfect for medium-level skiers who love to experience all the mountain’s facets.
More expert skiers can try the Spinale Direttissima, a track with hard snow, several walls and steeper inclines.
Madonna di Campiglio also offers the unique opportunity to ski at night around the Canalone MIramonti, and to experience freestyle skiing in the Ursus Snowpark.
From here, skiers can also access the Madonna di Campiglio-Pinzolo-Folgarida-Marileva ski area, which features 63 lift systems and 150km of tracks accessible by ski and snowboard.

In addition to its sports offerings, Madonna di Campiglio knows how to attract tourists thanks to its natural beauties: stunning lakes, enchanted valleys and the Adamello Brenta natural park refuges can be easily reached on foot from the town centre.

Over the years, the town has also become famous for its elegance and worldliness: several VIPs spend their winter holidays there, enjoying the area’s trendy restaurants, nightlife and renowned wellness centres.

All these elements make Madonna di Campiglio the perfect destination for a snowy weekend or ski holiday in a charming setting, without giving up any comfort.
